Hello Bike Angels!
That's right, you've got wings and you're into bikes. We want you on our team.
Like you, we want to create a vibrant, healthy community by making cycling accessible and affordable to all and to engage and empower youth in cycling.
In order to be successful, the Bike Hub will need committed volunteers doing a wide variety of jobs. Some of those jobs include:

Are you a young Bike Angel looking to be part of our Earn-a-Bike program? See below.
Overview
The Bike Hub has many affordable bikes for sale, donated to the Bike Hub by local residents. Creating an opportunity for young people to earn a bike at the Bike Hub will create a broader volunteer base for the Bike Hub. This will offer young people opportunities to learn about maintaining and repairing their bicycles, as well as an opportunity to experience the benefits of volunteering.
Student Volunteer Expectations
Volunteers can earn a bike by volunteering as many hours as their age, starting at age 8 and going up to age 18. For example, if a six year old volunteers for six hours, that person can earn a bike. Volunteering at the Bike Hub will consist of meaningful activities that may include placing pricing stickers on new inventory, cleaning the shop, cleaning bicycle parts, and learning to do minor repairs and maintenance on a bicycle. The volunteer jobs will be apportioned by the staff on duty. All repairs and maintenance on bicycles will be inspected by one of our skilled mechanics, and feedback about the job will be offered to the volunteer.
Volunteers will be expected to fill out this application form and write a brief statement explaining how they will use the bike they are about to earn.
The Bike Hub will create a poster that includes a graph with each volunteer’s name and stickers that can depict each hour worked. This visual poster will be placed in a prominent location for volunteers and visitors to the Bike Hub to see.
Once the required hours are completed, the Bike Hub will present the volunteer with a certificate, add their name to the poster as having earned a bike, and present them with a bike. A photo of the presentation will be added to our photo gallery.
We're hosting after-hours volunteer time every Thursday evening. This is a chance to connect with other volunteers or to take advantage of some open stand time to work on your bike. It's also a great opportunity to have to talk shop after-hours and dig a bit deeper on some more technical repair skills or retail operations. For the beginners, it’s a lower-stress chance to take the first steps in your wrenching journey–with plenty of help around!
No need to schedule or RSVP; just drop by. It takes place every Thursday from 6-8pm. Pizza and refreshments provided.
